about

About Flower Engines:

Inspired by Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians. This piece was written the summer of 2015: I was elated through awakening into a human be-ing, not human do-ing.

About The Grassbed:

Written my Freshman year at Loyola University Chicago. I was relaxing, looking out over the lake sitting on the grass. In between deep breaths and the absorbing the sunshine, this poem was effortlessly written.

lyrics

THE GRASS BED

I could sleep for many years
With the sun in my eyes,
Ringing in my ears.

Employ these sunken flowers
To the unth power
To rinse out that blackened gaze,
And wash the regretful tones.

Many days,
Many days,

I will lay ‘pon this grassbed
As she’ll steal mine
And surely scream at drops of dimes.
But of course, for she’s mine.

Though I try to mind my mind,
I continue to wander and
Fail to cease sleazy ponderings.

For the pristine’s only in nature.
